An alarm system is only as good as what happens after the alarm. For systems we connect to monitoring, every alarm runs directly to the Alpha Control Center in Hamburg — Germany’s first fully cloud-based monitoring centre, specialised in Ajax alarm systems. Why a monitoring centre at all?
Most alarm systems notify residents via app on alarm. That’s nice — but doesn’t help if you’re on holiday, exercising, in a meeting or simply not hearing your phone. A monitoring centre solves that: on alarm the system reports in parallel to a 24-hour service that verifies the alarm and, depending on agreement, alerts police, security service or you personally. Photo-verified alarms are prioritised by the police — patrol cars respond faster because false alarm is ruled out.
What Alpha Control does technically better
Classic monitoring centres use interfaces to connect new alarm tech with their infrastructure. These interfaces are slow — they lose time. Alpha Control has solved this differently: direct cloud-to-cloud connection between Ajax server and Alpha centre. No converter, no gateway, no data format translator. The alarm including photo lands with a real person within 9 seconds. That saves an average of 2.5 minutes compared to traditional monitoring centres — that can be the difference between an escaped and a caught burglar.
What Alpha does NOT cost you
Honest comparison: we evaluated several monitoring centres. Some cost €6/month and deliver accordingly little (no photo, long processing times, often no German staff). Some cost €50/month and don’t deliver more either. Alpha Control sits price-wise in the mid-range (around €25/month per system), but offers the best price-performance ratio in the German market. Exact price depends on the system size — we discuss in the proposal.
The alarm flow in 4 steps
1. Motion detector with camera (e.g. Ajax MotionCam) detects intruder and sends alarm plus 3 photos to the cloud. 2. Alpha Control receives alarm and images directly — without interface delay — within 9 seconds. A centre operator immediately judges whether it’s a real break-in. 3. On confirmed alarm Alpha initiates the agreed measures: notify police, dispatch security service, call you personally. On false alarm (cat, forgotten family member) Alpha aborts, you’re not disturbed. 4. Police respond faster because the confirmation is classified as “real alarm with photographic proof”.
